Over 300 computing devices donated to charities in Ohio and nationwide.

Columbus, OH Huntington Bank has been named Sage GoodTogether® Technology Donor of the Year for its support of community nonprofits. The company’s donation of over 300 devices, including 115 refurbished Apple iPads, to organizations in need has improved the lives of many in central Ohio and across the nation. Huntington was presented with the award on July 31st at the Idea Foundry in Columbus.

Sage Sustainable Electronics presented its GoodTogether Technology Donor of the Year award to one company nationally that creates transformative social impact through the gift of refurbished technology. According to Sage President Jill Vaské, in addition to the significant environmental benefit of reusing technology, the GoodTogether program creates a community benefit for those in need.

“Huntington is more than a customer to us – they are a partner in our mission. They exemplify the good a company can do through proper IT Asset Management, both for the environment and the wider community,” Vaské said.

Corporations can choose many paths for their retired technology. Huntington chose donation, to give back to the community. “On behalf of Huntington, we were honored to support this donation,” said Donna Kuproski, SVP of Infrastructure Services at Huntington. “Technology that once served our customers will now serve our community in a meaningful way thanks to our partnership with Sage.”

Sage supported the donation by providing data security, refurbishing, and distribution services. Organizations receiving devices include YMCA of Central Ohio, St. Stephen’s House, Gateway to Technology, Cuyahoga Municipal Housing Authority, Connected Nation, Chicago Hope Academy, the 14th St Community Center, Lotts Creek Community School, and Choices.

“Huntington continues to find ways to leverage their assets to benefit the communities where they have customers and where their employees work and live,” said Todd Tuney, Chief Development and External Relations Officer at YMCA of Central Ohio. “Huntington's donation of iPads for families in the Linden community is all about access and connection, as well as education and job opportunities.  We are grateful for the partnership with Huntington Bank in our efforts to close the digital divide in our communities and strengthen families through digital access.”
