A Household Problem

The survey showed increased awareness of recycling options, but also increased landfill disposal of computers.

Intepretation of the data points to areas of improvement for local and state governments - people are aware of their options, but are still storing or landfilling their devices, reports E-Scrap News. Perhaps they are concerned about data security, or perhaps recycling programs need to be more accessible.

Regardless, two things are clear from this survey. First, recyclers have an opportunity to turn awareness into action. Second, electronic disposal is not just a concern for business - it is an issue for every household in America.
